I mean… really. My whole life, I’ve always anticipated the fall season as a time that life would slow down and I could really enjoy my favorite time of year. Yeah… no. It NEVER happens. There is a pile of pumpkins to roast, apples to stew, lotions to make. Holiday soap specials to organize. Holiday craft fairs to do. Website to polish. Blogs to write. Family and friends to see and spend time with. I LOVE fall. I love the colors, the smells, the coolness. But, it’s waaay to short. Seriously. What I really want is to curl up on the couch, watch the leaves fall, with my cup of Door County Coffee – Lighthouse Blend.
Today, we lucked out a little. You might have noticed, Rowan Tree is part of the Dane County Farmers Market. We had planned on being there this morning, but with 13 MPH winds and a temp of 28 deg F. this morning, by 9AM we would have looked like this————————>
So, we cancelled. Unfortunately. Or not unfortunately, since today, I can catch up on stuff!
So, this morning, I got up, started some apples stewing, took one of the pumpkins inside so it could warm up enough to cut. Maybe I’ll even make some pies or a loaf of bread. The options are endless!
To make it up to our customers, we are offering 10% off of our entire website. Just use the coupon code TooCold Hint: Even our special special Pumpkin Pie Buttermilk Bastille Soap is 10% off. We NEVER put that on sale… so, go get it!
I also want to introduce a new member of our family, at least until next spring. Oscar Go. I found him in a mulch bed, it looks like he had been picked up by a bird and then dropped. So, of course he had to come home with me to heal.
His shell is compromised, so he will be spending the winter in a warm terrarium with lots of good food, calcium and love.
Have a great day and if you are in the Great Lakes area… stay warm!
